The role of rotor impedance in the vibration analysis of rotorcraft, part 4 [PDF]
A method for a strongly idealized case of vertical excitation and for rolling and pitching moment excitation of a four bladed hingeless rotor on an up-focussing flexible mount is developed.

The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Bandwidths and amplitudes of self-excited, flexible-walled cavity resonators [PDF]
When a flexible-walled cavity resonator undergoes flow-induced (self-excited) oscillations in the presence of a grazing flow, its behavior can be fundamentally different from that of the same resonator undergoing forced oscillations. One difference is that the bandwidth of oscillations may be much narrower in the self-excited case: Q’s measured for ...

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

An electroviscous damper [PDF]
A new type of vibration damper for rotor systems was developed and tested. The damper contains electroviscous fluid which solidifies and provides Coulomb damping when an electric voltage is imposed across the fluid.
