Portable Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Sensor for Rapid Swab‐Based Detection of Norovirus
This work reports a rapid, portable smartphone‐based sensor capable of detecting four norovirus genotypes from swab samples within 15 min. Sensor selectivity was validated through evaluation against four common live viruses. The swab‐based sampling process enabled simple sample preparation combined with the compact detection system, supporting use of ...

Simplified prediction of stability limit for oil film bearing rotor systems
Oil film bearings are often used in large rotating machinery because they have large load capacity and damping coefficients. They, however, generate fluid forces and cause unstable vibrations such as oil whirl and oil whip at high rotational speed ...

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This

Uncertainty analysis of flexible rotors considering fuzzy parameters and fuzzy-random parameters
The components of flexible rotors are subjected to uncertainties. The main sources of uncertainties include the variation of mechanical properties. This contribution aims at analyzing the dynamics of flexible rotors under uncertain parameters modeled as ...

Levitation of a flexible rotor supported by hybrid magnetic bearings
Recently, it has become necessary for rotors of centrifugal compressors, industrial rolls, and other devices to be less weighted, have a long span, and operate at high rotation speed to increase productivity.

Stacked nanoflake assembly (SNA) membranes can oscillate autonomously, offering opportunities for soft actuation and energy harvesting. This work uncovers the physical mechanism behind the sustained oscillation of SNA membranes in gradient humidity and identifies three governing dimensionless parameters, enabling rational design for optimizing SNA ...

A label‐free impedimetric biosensor based on electroactive 3D porous graphene foam enables ultrasensitive and selective detection of CD81 protein and MCF‐7 cell‐derived extracellular vesicles in human serum. Detection limits of 0.048 fg/mL for CD81 and ∼24 EVs/mL are achieved, demonstrating a robust platform for selective, label‐free, and ...

Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.
