Super-Elastic Graphene Ripples for Flexible Strain Sensors

ACS Nano, 2011
In this study, we report a buckling approach for graphene and graphene ribbons on stretchable elastomeric substrates. Stretched polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) films with different prestrains were used to receive the transferred graphene, and nanoscale periodical buckling of graphene was spontaneously formed after strain release.

Development of Flexible Piezoelectric Strain Sensor Array

IEEJ Transactions on Sensors and Micromachines, 2017
SUMMARYIn this paper, we present a novel flexible sensor array manufacturing process that involves transfer printing methods using a chip mounter with a vacuum collet. We successfully transfer‐printed continuously very fragile microelectromechanical systems (MEMS)‐based 5‐mm‐long, 1‐mm‐wide, 5‐μm‐thick high‐aspect‐ratio ultrathin PZT (1.9 μm)/Si (3 μm)

Flexible Graphite as A Strain/stress Sensor

MRS Proceedings, 1996
ABSTRACTFlexible graphite sandwiched by copper, after stabilization by two cycles of compressive stress, is an effective piezoresistive compressive strain/stress sensor for stresses up to 4 MPa and strains up to 25%. The stress sensitivity (fractional change in resistance per unit stress) is up to 5.4 MPa−1 and strain sensitivity (fractional change in ...

MWCNTs based flexible and stretchable strain sensors

Journal of Semiconductors, 2017
Carbon nanotubes have potential applications in flexible and stretchable devices due to their remarkable electromechanical properties. Flexible and stretchable strain sensors of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with aligned or random structures were fabricated on poly-dimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate with different techniques.

Flexible strain sensors: from devices to array integration

Flexible and Printed Electronics, 2021
Flexible strain sensors in various device structures and materials have been extensively studied. While most of research work focusing on single sensors for strain force detection at discrete points, flexible sensor arrays for large area conformal coverage to measure the strain force distribution are urged in many application scenarios.
