Flexoelectricity in Electroconvection
Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2009We reexamine the influence of the flexoelectricity on the electroconvection (EC), the effect which has previously been studied in the conductive EC regime only. Now we extend our studies to the dielectric EC, and to the parameter range for which the standard model of EC excludes the existence of the instability.

Flexoelectricity in the Hybrid Aligned Nematic Cell
Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1987The reorientation process of an HAN cell submitted to electric fields is studied both theoretically and experimentally. To isolate the flexoelectric effect from the dielectric one, the experiments are made under d.c. and a.c. excitations. Preliminary results on 6 μm thick MBBA have been reported.
