Leveraging Life Cycle Assessment for Informing Packaging Eco‐Design and Eco‐Modulation

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eco‐modulation is designed to promote the adoption of eco‐design. However, in practice, its application is mostly concentrated on end‐of‐life (EoL) optimization. This study addresses the gap by proposing a framework to assess product–packaging systems as integrated units throughout the full life cycle.

Carcinogenic risk in printing industry: A comparative assessment of occupational exposure to solvents across offset, flexographic, and gravure techniques

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Volatile organic compounds such as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene, with ethyl acetate, propanol, and ethanol, are commonly used in printing and pose health risks to workers. Despite numerous studies in printing, comprehensive risk assessments

Flexo‐printable glucomannan‐based biofilm

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Biofilms were synthesised from glucomannan and xylan. The ratio of glucomannan: xylan varied from 90:10 (g/g) to 70:30 (g/g). Nanofibrillated cellulose was added to enhance the mechanical properties of the biofilms. In another approach, glucomannan/xylan suspensions were crosslinked with tartaric acid (TA) or citric acid (CA).

In Situ UV Torsional Force Spectroscopy for Real‐Time Mapping of Cross‐linking Kinetics and Mechanical Properties in Polymeric Films

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 8, 22 April 2026.
This study introduces an in situ UV torsional force spectroscopy method to track how polymers harden under UV light. The technique maps stiffness and energy loss beneath the surface in real time. It reveals how cross‐linking develops and identifies regions with different mechanical behavior, helping optimize UV curing processes in polymer materials ...

Effect of Plasma Surface Modification on Print Quality of Biodegradable PLA Films

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
PLA films, as non-absorbent materials, require modification of the surface before the printing process in order to improve the wettability of the substrate and to obtain proper ink adhesion to the substrate.

From Headlines to Supply Lines: Paradoxes in the Digital News Media Supply Chain

open access: yesTransportation Journal, Volume 65, Issue 2, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT Supply chain management has traditionally focused on networks of decision‐making nodes that manage the physical flow of goods. In recent years, attention has increased to service supply chains. One underexplored example is that of news media, which has undergone a profound transformation due to digitalization.
