Flexural performance of woven hybrid composites

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2016
This paper describes the experimental investigation of the flexural performance of natural fiber reinforced polymer composites. Hybrid composites consist of interwoven kenaf/jute and kenaf/hemp fibers was prepared by infusion process using epoxy as polymer matrix. Woven kenaf, jute and hemp composites were also prepared for comparison.

Flexural performance of rectangular CFST members

Thin-Walled Structures, 2014
Abstract This paper presents a finite element analysis (FEA) modeling to study the flexural performance of rectangular concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) members with compact, non-compact or slender element sections. Seventy test results are used to verify the FEA modeling.

Bioinspirational understanding of flexural performance in hedgehog spines

Acta Biomaterialia, 2019
In this research, the flexural performance of hedgehog spines is investigated in four ways. First, X-ray micro-computed tomography (μCT) is employed to analyze the complex internal architecture of hedgehog spines. μCT images reveal distinct structural morphology, characterized by longitudinal stringers and transverse central plates, which enhance ...

Flexural Performance of Glued Laminated Bamboo Beams

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
Bamboo structures have a good performance like wooden structures. The flexural performance of glued laminated bamboo beams for bamboo structures were studied through ten large-scale beams tested. The study investigated the failure modes of bamboo beams, flexural capacity, cross-sectional stiffness and strain distribution. In test, four kinds of typical

Flexure mounts for high-performance astronomical lenses

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
We have developed practical, high performance flexure mounts for large astronomical lenses in the Binospec spectrograph. Flexure mounts are an attractive alternative to the widely used elastomeric lens mounts when high axial stiffness is a priority and coupling fluids are incompatible with elastomers.

Flexural Performance of Ultra-High Performance Concrete Ballastless Track Slabs

2016 Joint Rail Conference, 2016
Ballastless track slab offers excellent stability and durability and has been well accepted in high-speed railways worldwide. Rails are typically laid on precast concrete slabs that are subjected to dynamic load transferred from the rails. Cracks can be induced by shrinkage and mechanical loading in concrete, which accelerates the degradation and ...

CTA #30. Flexural Bond Performance

1975
Investigates the development of flexural bond in short span hollow-core slabs under ultimate flexural loads. A simple criterion is proposed, on the basis of 32 tests, for assurance that the units will achieve or exceed the limiting steel tension specified by ACT 318-71.

Flexural performance of lightweight reinforced-concrete slabs

Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2016
Recent advances in high-performance/high-strength lightweight concrete (HP/HSLWC) have had limited application in structural construction because of the lack of design and construction guidelines and concerns about material properties and their impact on performance.

Performance Analysis of The Corrugated Flexure Beams Clamping Paired Double Parallel Parallelogram Flexure Mechanisms

2019 3rd International Conference on Electronic Information Technology and Computer Engineering (EITCE), 2019
In order to solve the problem of under-constraints of the secondary motion stage in paired double parallelogram mechanism, a paired double parallelogram mechanism based on the clamping of corrugated flexure beams is designed in this paper, called double parallelogram mechanism with corrugated flexure beam (CFB-DP-DP).
