Assessment of the strength reduction factor in predicting the flexural strength
In the design of flexural strength, the strength reduction factor decreases from tension- -controlled sections to compression-controlled sections to increase safety with decreasing ductility. This paper presents how to determine the reduction factor for flexural strength of reinforced concrete beams according to ACI code.

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.
