Flexural strength of metakaolin ferrocement

Composites Part B: Engineering, 2013
Abstract Flexural strength of metakaolin ferrocements was evaluated through laboratory investigation. Reference mortar with OPC of 43 grade and metakaolin mortars with 5–25% metakaolin replacement in the increments of 5% with cement were made. Constant water to cementitious ratio of 0.5 was maintained for all the mortars.

Flexural Strength of Profiled Beams

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1994
A construction technique that uses steel decking as permanent and integral shuttering for the sides and soffits of reinforced concrete beams is described. Experimental tests on large‐scale profiled beams have shown that the side steel decking can substantially increase both the flexural strength and the ductility, as well as the shear strength of the ...

Flexural strength of rebased denture polymers

Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 2000
The properties of denture base and reline resins may be affected by daily changes between room temperature and mouth temperature. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effect of thermocycling on the flexural strength of the relined denture base polymer with reline resin.

Strength of ligthweight ferrocement in flexure

Cement and Concrete Composites, 1991
Abstract Lightweight ferrocement has been made by replacing sand in the cement mortar by foamed blast-furnace slag (fbs) from 0 to 100% in steps of 20%. Ferrocement specimens of rectangular section, 200 mm wide × 25 mm thick, have been cast using this lightweight mortar and containing symmetrically distributed 2, 4 or 6 layers of 4 × 22 gauge ...

Flexural strength of provisional restorative materials

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1993
A provisional restorative material must be strong enough to resist fracture during function. This study tested five autopolymerizing provisional resin materials under conditions that related the stresses acting on them to those acting on a fixed partial denture.

The Ductile Behaviour Including Flexural Strength of High-Strength Concrete Members Subjected to Flexure

"SP-172: High-Performance Concrete - Proceedings: ACI International Conference, Malaysia 1997", 1999
Fifteen high-strength concrete beams were tested under concentrated load at two points to investigate their ductile behavior including flexural strength with various compressive stress distribution. Six high strength concrete beams were tested to investigate the minimum reinforcement ratios requirements for high strength concrete.

Strength of FRC Corbels in Flexure

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1994
Tests were carried out on 38150×150×200mm reinforced concrete corbels subjected to vertical loading. Steel fibers were used as shear reinforcement in 28 corbels. Parameters varied included volumes of main bars and fibrous reinforcements, effective depth or cover to main bars, and shear span.

Distribution parameters for flexural strength of ice

Cold Regions Science and Technology, 1991
Abstract Thirteen sets of flexural strength data for simply supported beams were examined to check the appropriateness of the three-parameter Weibull distribution and the double exponential extremal distribution. As the thirteen data sets involve different kinds of ice with various microstructures, temperature, salinities and volumes tested under ...

Flexural strength equation for sea ice

Cold Regions Science and Technology, 1994
Abstract The measured flexural strengths of freshwater ice and sea ice have been compiled with a view towards correlating the measured results. Two thousand, four hundred and ninety-five experimentally measured data points from nineteen investigators have been used.
