Flexible Dielectric Acoustic Resonator Patch for Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible dielectric acoustic resonator patch enables MHz‐range ultrasound generation through resonance amplification without using piezoelectric materials. Conformal integration on a curved substrate allows efficient acoustic delivery to tissue‐mimicking environments.

Flexural Tests on Consolidation Effects on Stone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper describes laboratory verification tests for determining the efficiency of various consolidation treatments on Czech quartz sandstone. It compares material data acquired using circular discs and rectangular plates. While the application of rectangular plates enables the testing not only of strength but also of other material characteristics –

Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

Flexural Behavior of SFRC: Testing and Modeling [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Materials in Civil Engineering, 1999
In this paper the results of tests performed on specimens and structural elements made of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) are presented. Fiber content of the concrete ranged from 0 to 60 kg/m³. Using the results of the uniaxial compression tests performed under displacement control condition, a stress-strain relationship for fiber concrete in ...

Beyond Earth: Resilience of Quasi‐2D Perovskite Solar Cells in Space

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In the article (DOI: 10.1002/adma.202520433), Christoph Putz and co‐workers demonstrate rigid quasi‐2D perovskite solar cells operating in low Earth orbit, delivering stable power for more than 100 days under real‐space conditions. In‐orbit performance is correlated with extensive ground‐based thermal and proton‐irradiation studies on rigid and ...

Plastic Straw Fibers as an Innovative Material for FRC under Flexural Loading: Statistical and Experimental Analysis

open access: yesIngeniería e Investigación
Plastic straws (PS) are often discarded after a brief period of use, contributing significantly to global pollution. This article explores the mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC) incorporating PS as an innovative reinforcing material.
