Soft Ionic and Electronic Triboelectric Nanogenerators: Toward Attachable and Implantable Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides an overview of triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG)–based biomedical applications by classifying studies into electronic and ionic systems across attachable and implantable platforms. It summarizes key material choices, device structures, and working mechanisms that characterize current TENG‐based research, and outlines six future ...

Structural Design and Optimization of Flexible Commutation Amplification Mechanism based on Giant Magnetostrictive Actuator

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2019
A micro-displacement transmission mechanism with giant magnetostrictive actuator (GMA) as the driving unit is designed, which uses lever-type flexure hinge for displacement commutation and amplification.

Poking Pluripotency: Nanoinjection Into Human iPSCs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoinjection into hiPSCs: silicon nanotubes effectively transfect human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) with mRNA, enabled by a delayed extracellular matrix application and enhanced surface functionalization. Nanoinjection is demonstrated with several reporter mRNA, including co‐transfection of mCherry and GFP.

Self‐Regulating Sodium‐Ion Battery Materials: From Phase Reconstruction to Functional Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐regulating sodium‐ion batteries hinge on programmable phase behavior in layered oxides, interphases that renew without growth, and electrolytes that steer solvation and chemistry. This review distills mechanisms into design rules that span composition, site and entropy tuning, and self‐buffering anodes, linking operando evidence to choices and ...

Analysis of the Stiffness Characteristic of Three Types of Four-bar Flexure Hinge Mechanism based on ANSYS

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2017
The single parallel four-bar flexure hinge mechanism is widely used as the prismatic pair of the ultra-precision stage and precision sensors. Since the ultra-precision stage produces the displacement depended on it,so the stiffness of single parallel ...

Issued as a Documentation Report on an Investigation of Field-Made Joints in Prestressed Reinforced Concrete Highway Girder Bridges, Project IHR-303, Phase 2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
A prototype bridge girder was designed, built, and tested. The 250 ft long two-span girder was made of 3 precast segments about 88, 74, and 88 ft in length. The segments were supported on 3 final and 2 temporary supports.

Design of a Piezoelectric-actuated microgripper with a three-stage flexure-based amplification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper presents a novel microgripper mechanism for micromanipulation and assembly. The microgripper is driven by a piezoelectric actuator, and a three-stage flexure-based amplification has been designed to achieve large jaw displacements.
