Self‐Nitriding Nanostructured Transition Metal Nitrides in Architected‐Carbon Matrices: Unveiling Mechanisms and Advancing Performance in Lithium‐Sulfur Pouch Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Imidazolium PIL nanoparticles, as an N‐rich template and morphology director, enable a colloidal self‐nitriding route to TMNs (VN, Mo2N) within controlled solid/hollow carbon architectures. As sulfur hosts/additives, TMNs accelerate Li–S redox kinetics and support high‐loading cathodes.

Surface‐Bound Superoxide Radical‐Mediated Photo‐Fenton Mineralization of Ciprofloxacin on Fe‐Sillenite Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study systematically compares the degradation efficiency of CIP in a H2O2‐alone system and a novel Bi12FeO20‐H2O2 photo‐Fenton system. It reveals for the first time the presence of a quinone‐imine intermediate in the H2O2‐alone system, which exhibits toxicity comparable to CIP.

Data acquisition techniques for exploiting the uniqueness of the time-of-flight mass spectrometer: Application to sampling pulsed gas systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Mass spectra are produced in most mass spectrometers by sweeping some parameter within the instrument as the sampled gases flow into the ion source. It is evident that any fluctuation in the gas during the sweep (mass scan) of the instrument causes the ...

Correlated measurements of UHF radar signatures, RF radiation and electric field changes from lightning [PDF]

open access: yes
During Storm Hazards - 82, simultaneous measurements are made of radar echoes, fast and slow field changes and RF radiation from lightning. Radio frequency radiation and radar echoes are also obtained during periods when the research aircraft is struck ...

Cars2‐Mediated Cysteine Catabolism Drives Brown Fat Development and Thermogenesis Through Persulfidating EBF2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that Cars2, a cysteine catabolic enzyme in mouse iBAT, is critical for cold tolerance and brown adipocyte differentiation. Through its CPERS activity, Cars2 produces CysSSH/H2S to induce EBF2 persulfidation, promoting its interaction with PPARγ and BRG1 to enhance thermogenic gene expression.
