Usefulness of an intraoperative flipped monitor in laparoscopic surgery with situs inversus totalis: a case report of laparoscopic-assisted ileocecal resection [PDF]
Background Situs inversus totalis (SIT) is a rare congenital condition that involves complete transposition (right to left reversal) of the visceral organs. Laparoscopic surgery can be challenging because of the mirror-image anatomy.

Spin-Flip Induced Magnetoresistance in Positionally Disordered Organic Solids [PDF]
A model for magnetoresistance in positionally disordered organic materials is presented and solved using percolation theory. The model describes the effects of spin flips on hopping transport by considering the effect of spin dynamics on an effective density of hopping sites. Faster spin-flip transitions open up `spin-blocked' pathways to become viable

Tumor-Net: convolutional neural network modeling for classifying brain tumors from MRI images
Abnormal brain tissue or cell growth is known as a brain tumor. One of the body's most intricate organs is the brain, where billions of cells work together. As a head tumor grows, the brain suffers damage due to its increasingly dense core.

Candida albicans biofilm formation on peptide functionalized polydimethylsiloxane [PDF]
In order to prevent biofilm formation by Candida albicans, several cationic peptides were covalently bound to polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The salivary peptide histatin 5 and two synthetic variants (Dhvar 4 and Dhvar 5) were used to prepare peptide ...
