Diagnosis of localized defects in floating bush bearings through time-frequency domain analysis [PDF]

open access: yesMaintenance, Reliability and Condition Monitoring, 2023
Bearings play a crucial role in the functionality of rotating machinery, and any defects in these components can result in machine failure. Detecting, diagnosing, and prognosing bearing faults are crucial steps in machine failure diagnostics to prevent malfunctions and breakdowns.

Relation between Rotational Speed of Floating Bush Bearings and Rotor Vibration of a Turbocharger with Floating Bush Bearings

open access: yesJournal of The Japan Institute of Marine Engineering, 2006
In response to the requirement for higher output of diesel engines in the recent years, IHI (Ishikawajima-Harima Industries Co., Ltd.) has recognized that a turbocharger with higher pressure-ratio and volume-flow rate will be required, and has commenced the development of such a turbocharger.

Investigation of Air-Oil-Thermal Distribution in Floating Bush Bearing

open access: yesVolume 7A: Structures and Dynamics, 2017
Owing to their low cost and reduced power losses, floating bush bearings are extensively used in high-speed rotors. The advantages are mainly the result of the rotation of the bush. When shaft speed is within a low speed range, bush rotation speed increases linearly with shaft speed.

Transient dynamic characteristics of floating bush structure of marine high pressure fuel pump [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Fluids
The roller-floating bush-pin (RFBP) structure is an important component in high-pressure fuel pumps of marine diesel engines, and its dynamic characteristics have a significant impact on equipment stability. In this study, a simulation model of the transient dynamic characteristics of the double-layer oil film structure was established, taking into ...

Static Characteristics of an Aerostatic Journal Bearing with a Self-Controlled Restrictor Employing a Floating Bush.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1995
In this paper, a new type of aerostatic journal bearing with a self-controlled restrictor employing a floating bush is proposed in order to obtain very high static stiffness. The proposed self-controlled restrictor makes use of the force balance of fluid film pressures acting on the floating bush to control the gas flow entering bearing clearance.

A Theoretical Analysis of Floating Bush Journal Bearing With Axial Oil Film Rupture Being Considered

open access: yesJournal of Tribology, 2002
A new modified Reynolds equation is derived with centrifugal force acting on the hydrodynamic oil film being considered. This equation, together with a cavitation model, is used to obtain the steady-state equilibrium and calculate the rotordynamic coefficients of lightly loaded floating bush journal bearings operating at very high shaft speeds.

Model of the Floating Bearing Bushing Movement in an External Gear Pump and the Relation to Its Parameterization [PDF]

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
This article presents the modeling, simulation and experimental validation of the movement of the floating bearing bushing in an external gear pump. As a starting point, a complete pump parameterization was carried out through standard tests, and these parameters were used in a first bond graph model in order to simulate the gear pump behavior.

Motion Modelling of the Floating Bushing in an External Gear Pump Using Dimensional Analysis

open access: yesActuators, 2023
A new approach to model the motion of floating bushings in external gear pumps is presented in this article, where lubrication conditions have been introduced using dimensional analysis. This model is based on Bond Graph diagrams and has been experimentally validated in lab tests measuring the movement of the floating bushing inside the gear pump by ...

Conceptualising quality early childhood education: Learning from young children in Brazil and South Africa through creative and play‐based methods

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Early childhood has increasingly been acknowledged as a vital time for all children. Inclusive and quality education is part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with the further specification that all children have access to quality pre‐primary education.
