Mechanical Programming of PEGDA‐β‐CD Polyrotaxane‐Based Hydrogels via Host–Guest Molecular Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanically programmable hydrogel for tissue engineering is developed by modulating the molecular threading density of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate‐β‐cyclodextrin (PEGDA‐β‐CD) polyrotaxane and combining it with β‐CD‐modified gelatin. The polyrotaxane‐guided transition from disordered pores to laminar microstructures enables precise tuning ...

Recurrence of Congenital Dermoid Cyst of Paramedian Location

open access: yesInternational Archives of Otorhinolaryngology, 2010
Introduction: The dermoid cyst is a cyst of unusual development in the face and more often involves the mouth floor. Most injuries occur in young adults with a slight predilection for males. Lesions in neonatal and children are extremely rare.

Study on safe crossing in the dry season and an anti-floating drainage scheme in the wet season: a case study in Guiyang, Southwest China

open access: yesScientific Reports
Karst formations in Southwest China are significantly developed. With the increase in tunnel construction year by year, constructing tunnels in areas of karst geology is inevitable.

Fear of Floating: Exchange Rate Flexibility Indices [PDF]

open access: yes
Many emerging market countries have suffered financial crises. One view blames soft pegs for these crises. Adherents to that view suggest that countries move to corner solutions--hard pegs or floating exchange rates.

Bio‐Inspired Artificial Ionic Mechanoreceptor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A skin‐inspired artificial mechanoreceptor based on ionic interactions is presented for biomimetic tactile sensing. Pressure‐driven ionic redistribution within microfluidic channels generates a self‐powered electrical signal without external bias. The generated waveform exhibits mechanoreceptor‐like temporal features, including overshoot and undershoot,

Unusual Dermoid Cyst in Oral Cavity

open access: yesCase Reports in Pathology, 2014
Dermoid cysts in oral cavity are unusual lesions. Their etiology is not yet clear and can be associated with trapped cells as a result of the inclusion error resulting in the development into the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm tissues.

Melanin's Role in Balancing Mechanical Strength and Reproductive Output in Environmentally Stressed Fungal Spores

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Melanin content directly controls fungal spore mechanical properties, with pigmented spores achieving rupture forces two orders of magnitude higher than hyaline spores. Environmental stress drives this quantity‐quality tradeoff; stressed species invest energy in melanin‐reinforced, mechanically superior thick‐walled, super‐hydrophobic spores, while ...

CO2‐to‐CO Conversion in a Gas‐Fed, Zero‐Gap, PEM Electrolyzer Enabled by Polycations and Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon‐Supported Cobalt Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gas‐fed, zero‐gap, PEM CO2 electrolyzer is realized by incorporating PDDA+ ions onto the carbonaceous Co/N‐C electrocatalyst, with gaseous H2 and CO2 fed into the anode and cathode, respectively. Operating without an aqueous electrolyte, the system sustains a peak FECO of 65.1% at 100 mA cm−2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (ECO2R)

Abnormal Vibration Analysis of Low-floor Tram

open access: yes机车电传动, 2020
For the 100% low-floor tram with five modules, the vertical stability index was abnormal at 40 km/h speed. In order to explore the cause, the field test was carried out.
