Cascade Analysis of a Floating Wind Turbine Rotor
Mounting a wind turbine on a floating foundation introduces more complexity to the aerodynamic loading. The floater motion contains a wide range of frequencies. To study some of the basic dynamic load effect on the blades due to these motions, a two-dimensional cascade approach, combined with a potential vortex method, is used.

Floating wind turbine control optimization
Abstract We present a framework for optimizing the control parameters of floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs). The framework combines aeroelastic simulations with a systems engineering model and control software. In an example of the optimization framework, we minimize tower damage equivalent loading with generator speed constraints ...

Experimental validation of parked loads for a floating vertical axis wind turbine: wind–wave basin tests [PDF]
Parked loads are a major design load case for vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs) because of persistent high loads on the rotor when in standstill conditions.

Collapse Behavior of Onshore and Spar-Floating Wind Turbine Towers During Blade Pitch Malfunction
Blade pitch control is one of the most important control systems for a wind turbine: blade pitch controller malfunction can lead to increased vertical bending moment at the tower base, which may result in structural failure.

Offshore wind is generally stronger and more consistent than wind on land. A large part of the offshore wind resource is however located in deep water, where floating wind turbines can harvest more energy. This paper describes a systematic experiment and

Analysis of Eight Types of Floating Wind Turbines at Constant Wind Speed
The objective of this paper is to carry out response analyses of eight floating wind turbines and compare them together; this is something that is not seen in previous research papers.
