Bio‐templated Piezoresistive Yarn for High Sensitivity Movement Monitoring Textiles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed a conductive coating by biotemplating silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) onto a Potato virus A (PV) particle network, cross‐linked on co‐polyamide‐starch (CoPA‐SS) coils. The combination of CoPA‐SS's shape memory and PV‐AgNP's piezoresistivity achieved high strain sensitivity and minimal hysteresis.

Overlaid Conductive Silver Nanowire Networks on Gas Diffusion Electrodes for High‐Performance Electrochemical CO2‐to‐C2+ Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a rational electrode design for electrochemical CO2 reduction, employing Ag nanowire networks as both current collectors and tandem catalysts. The Ag nanowires are deposited onto the catalyst layer, forming a stacked PTFE/catalyst/Ag nanowires configuration.

Does forecast-based financing (FbF) lower women's vulnerability to flooding?

open access: yesProgress in Disaster Science
Forecast-based financing (FbF) is gaining traction globally in the humanitarian sector as a critical tool for reducing disaster risk. Global and national literature on FbF mainly shed light on the effectiveness in reducing household-level vulnerability ...

Flood hazards studies in the Mississippi River basin using remote sensing [PDF]

open access: yes
The Spring 1973 Mississippi River flood was investigated using remotely sensed data from ERTS-1. Both manual and automatic analyses of the data indicated that ERTS-1 is extremely useful as a regional tool for flood mamagement.

A riverbank erosion early warning system (EWS-RE) for braided river: a case of the Brahmaputra–Jamuna

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Braided rivers are distinguished by numerous bars and channels, along with their regular alterations. This unique character of braided rivers induces bank adjustment through erosion or accretion, and when erosion occurs in populated regions, it results ...

FLOOD EASEMENTS [PDF]

open access: yes
We examine the efficiency of current flood risk allocation and the use of flood easements as a means of reallocating flood risk and reducing total flood damages in large river floodplains.

Mass‐Transport–Engineered CCM Architecture Employing MPL‐Free Carbon Paper and Graphene‐Coated Ni Foam Channels for High‐Temperature PEM Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A CCM‐based architectural strategy is introduced for high‐temperature PEM fuel cells, enabling MPL‐free carbon paper gas diffusion layers via decal‐transfer processing. By co‐engineering the CCM, GDL, and a G‐foam flow field, oxygen transport is enhanced while phosphoric‐acid leakage is suppressed, resulting in high power density and stable operation ...
