Tuning the Selectivity of the CO2 Reduction Reaction by Means of Synergistic Interactions in the Cu, Ag, Ce System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multi‐metal Cu─Ce─Ag nanoparticles harness synergistic interactions to drive efficient electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction toward C2+ products at high current densities. Ag enhances CO production, Ce modulates Cu oxidation states, and together they boost *CO coverage and local pH to enhance C─C coupling, enabling record C2+ yields with suppressed ...

Flood Frequency Analysis in West Africa

open access: yesJournal of Flood Risk Management
Devastating flood events are recurrently impacting West Africa. To mitigate flood impacts and reduce the vulnerability of populations, a better knowledge on the frequency of these events is crucial.

Threshold effects in catchment storm response and the occurrence and magnitude of flood events: implications for flood frequency [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2007
The aim of this paper is to illustrate the effects of selected catchment storage thresholds upon runoff behaviour, and specifically their impact upon flood frequency.

Analysis of Biweekly Oscillation and Low-Frequency Circulation Characteristics of Summer Precipitation in Drought-Flood Years over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau

open access: yesGaoyuan qixiang, 2023
In order to study the characteristics of low frequency oscillation of summer precipitation over Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, based on the daily precipitation data of 62 meteorological stations over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau from 1978 to 2017 and the high ...

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Gumbel’s Extreme Value Distribution for Flood Frequency Analyses of Timis River [PDF]

open access: yesAerul şi Apa: Componente ale Mediului
One of the major problems in the engineering design of water resource is the estimation of peak flood flows. In probability theory and statistics, flood frequency analysis is used to obtain the distribution of flood probabilities.

Combining information from multiple flood projections in a hierarchical Bayesian framework

open access: yes, 2016
This study demonstrates, in the context of flood frequency analysis, the potential of a recently proposed hierarchical Bayesian approach to combine information from multiple models.

Global warming increases the frequency of river floods in Europe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
EURO-CORDEX, a new generation of downscaled climate projections, has become available for climate change impact studies in Europe. New opportunities arise in the investigation of potential effects of a warmer world on meteorological and hydrological ...

High‐Throughput Exfoliation of Optoelectronic‐Grade MoS2 via Turbulent‐Flow Wet Jet Milling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable wet jet milling exfoliation method is demonstrated for producing optoelectronic‐grade MoS2 nanosheets using environmentally friendly ethyl cellulose in ethanol dispersion media. Guided by fluid dynamics modeling, this approach is optimized to achieve record‐high exfoliation throughput and concentration.

Climate change exacerbates hurricane flood hazards along US Atlantic and Gulf Coasts in spatially varying patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
One of the most destructive natural hazards, tropical cyclone (TC)–induced coastal flooding, will worsen under climate change. Here we conduct climatology–hydrodynamic modeling to quantify the effects of sea level rise (SLR) and TC climatology change ...
