Transport and Depositional Processes of Neogene Pumice Fragments in a Distal Fluvial System of the Northern Patagonian Foreland (Argentina)

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 37, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
In this work we analyse the origin, transport, and deposition processes of pumice fragments up to 30 cm in size, deposited in the Northern Patagonian Foreland more than 200 km from the Andean volcanic arc. ABSTRACT There are numerous studies analysing volcaniclastic supply to continental environments in distal areas from source volcanoes.

Subsurface Geology of the Paraná‐Etendeka Large Igneous Province: Implications to Province Stratigraphy and CO2 Storage

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 37, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
This work presents insights into the anatomy of the Paraná‐Etendeka volcanic sequences from subsurface geophysical data and how subsurface data aids in the stratigraphic correlation of volcanic formations regionally. Additionally, we describe facies distribution and reservoir properties, providing perspectives for CCS in the Paraná‐Etendeka LIP ...

A Statistical Inverse Method for Gridding Passive Microwave Data with Mixed Measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
When a passive microwave footprint intersects objects on the ground with different spectral characteristics, the corresponding observation is mixed. The retrieval of geophysical parameters is limited by this mixture.
