Chronic Regulatory Focus: Resist impulse consumption or let it happen? [PDF]
Purpose – The central objective of this research was to analyze the moderating role of chronic regulatory focus in impulse consumption when individuals are exhausted of self-control energies (ego depletion).

High‐Gloss SVBRDF Capture Using Bounce Light
Abstract Reflectance capture aims at the visual reproduction of an object under varying illumination. Past works differ substantially in their experimental overhead, from single‐ or few‐image approaches, that employ significant (often learned) priors at the expense of biased reconstructions, to more accurate approaches that tend to be time‐consuming ...

The Ironic Effects of Financial Constraint‐Induced Suppression on Consumer Behavior
ABSTRACT Financial constraints are a pervasive concern for consumers, shaping spending patterns and psychological coping mechanisms. While previous research has primarily focused on behavioral adaptations, this study explores a cognitive mechanism: thought suppression.

Security Analysis of FloodLight, ZeroSDN, Beacon and POX SDN Controllers
S.85-98Software-defined network (SDN) is an emerging approach to replace legacy network's (coupled software and hardware) control and management by decoupling the control plane (software) from the data plane (hardware).

Dibenzosuberene‐Winged Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons
The twisted acene 8, which features two dibenzosuberene “wings”, was prepared by the addition of a crowded aryne to a similarly “winged” cyclopentadienone. Compound 8 is chiral, and it has a high barrier to thermal racemization (ΔG‡rac = 36 kcal/mol), but it undergoes fast photochemical racemization even in ambient light.

NetIntent: Leveraging Large Language Models for End-to-End Intent-Based SDN Automation
Intent-Based Networking (IBN) often leverages the programmability of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) to simplify network management. However, significant challenges remain in automating the entire pipeline, from user-specified high-level intents to ...

Computer networks become complex and dynamic structures. As a result of this fact, the configuration and the managing of this whole structure is a challenging activity. Software-Defined Networks(SDN) is a new network paradigm that, through an abstraction

We experimentally evaluated the effects of artificial lighting on mammal visitation patterns at waterholes in north‐central Namibia using motion‐activated camera traps across two dry seasons. Lighting had minimal effects on most species, although gemsboks increased use of artificially lit waterholes and lions reduced nocturnal activity at illuminated ...

MLDAS: Machine Learning Dynamic Algorithm Selection for Software‐Defined Networking Security
ABSTRACT Network security is a critical concern in the digital landscape of today, with users demanding secure browsing experiences and protection of their personal data. This study explores the dynamic integration of Machine Learning (ML) algorithms with Software‐Defined Networking (SDN) controllers to enhance network security through adaptive ...
