Dibenzosuberene‐Winged Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons
European Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 23, 16 June 2026.The twisted acene 8, which features two dibenzosuberene “wings”, was prepared by the addition of a crowded aryne to a similarly “winged” cyclopentadienone. Compound 8 is chiral, and it has a high barrier to thermal racemization (ΔG‡rac = 36 kcal/mol), but it undergoes fast photochemical racemization even in ambient light.

, 2021 Given a set S of regions with piece-wise linear boundary and a positive angle α < 90◦, we consider the problem of computing the locations and orientations of the minimum number of α-floodlights positioned at points in S which suffice to illuminate the entire x-axis.
