ABSTRACT This special issue marking the University of Bath's 60th anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on nearly a decade of research into the evolution of gene regulatory networks (GRNs) from members of the lab and elsewhere. Our goal is to understand how GRNs rewire and how new transcription factor (TF) functions evolve. Using an experimental

Overcoming PEG Antigenicity: Statistical PEG Isomers Reduce Antibody Binding
Conventional poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) is commonly applied in biomedicine, but is now known to induce antibody formation. Here, it is shown that the development of “randomized PEG” (rPEG) featuring glycidyl methyl ether (GME) comonomers decreased antibody binding.

Water‐soluble metallophthalocyanines self‐assemble onto the surface of carbon black via π–π interactions, creating highly dispersed and electronically coupled MPcTs/CB, which enables selective CO2‐to‐CO conversion in aqueous media with near‐quantitative Faradaic efficiency and remarkable stability. Optimized flow‐cell operation delivers up to 500 mA cm−

Delineating potential sites for Natech due to climate change in the Selangor River Basin, Malaysia
Climate change is expected to result in intensifying extreme weather that would increase the risks of climate hazards; leading to natural hazards triggering technological disasters (Natech) events.

Spectroscopic Evidence of Edge‐Localized States in an Antiferromagnet Topological Insulator NdBi
Using spin‐polarized scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) in conjunction with quasiparticle interference, we successfully identify distinct signatures of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic terminations in NdBi, a rare‐earth monopnictide exhibiting non‐trivial topology and magnetism. We demonstrate that step edges on ferromagnetic surfaces host well‐

Electrochemical Nitrate Reduction Reaction to Ammonia at Industrial‐Level Current Densities
This review starts from the mechanism and theoretical basis of electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction (NO3−RR), and systematically summarizes and discusses the design strategies of industrial‐level current density catalysts. In addition, the progress of industrial‐level NO3−RR‐based electrolyzers, including flow reactor and membrane electrode ...
