The patient denied any fever, pain, chills, or airway compromise. She did complain of biting the left floor of the mouth when chewing.

One hundred eighty-three patients with floor of the mouth cancer, of whom 162 were evaluable, were treated between 1962 and 1987. Most patients (139) received treatment with curative intent. Forty-seven received surgery only; 45 received radiotherapy (RT) only; 23 received preoperative RT and surgery; 24 received surgery and postoperative RT.

A neonate with a swelling in the floor of the mouth
Nederlands Tijdschrift Voor Tandheelkunde, 2023A significant swelling was seen in the floor of the mouth of a newborn girl. The girl could only drink with difficulty. On examination, a soft-elastic swelling was seen beneath the tongue. Ultrasonography and MRI showed a mass located above the hyoid bone.
