Flooring-systems and their interaction with usage of the floor
Some flooring-system designs might be sensitive to their vibrational performance, as there might be the risk that serviceability-limit-state problems may be encountered.

Prefabricated Composite Flooring Systems with Normal and Lightweight Concretes [PDF]
The use of lightweight concrete in structural applications for the sustainable design of composite slabs require the revision of today's flooring systems and the development of more efficient shear connectors. This paper studies a novel prefabricated and

Our work introduces a new framework that fundamentally changes how orientation in bismuth oxyhalide systems is approached. Comprehensive experiments, backed by theoretical models, reveal the pivotal role of halide anions to modify the van der Waals stacking energies required to direct orientation. Our method enables the fabrication of near perfect (001)

IMPACT NOISE ISOLATION OF FLOOR SYSTEMS USING PLASTERBOARD CEILING WITH AND WITHOUT PET WOOL
The acoustic insulation against impact noise of two floor systems was evaluated, using plasterboard lining installed under a prefabricated ribbed slab with prestressed joists, combined with PET wool in the lining.

Effect of different flooring systems on claw conformation of dairy cows
The effect of different flooring surfaces in walking and standing areas on claw conformation, claw horn growth, and wear was studied in 2 experiments during 2 consecutive housing seasons in a research dairy herd of 170 cows. In experiment 1, the flooring

Topological insulator–metamaterials integrated with electrically driven terahertz quantum cascade lasers enable parity‐dependent harmonic generation. Bulk‐dominated Bi2Se3 favors third‐harmonic emission at 9.96 THz, whereas topological‐surface‐state‐dominated Bi2Se3, Bi2Te3, and (Bi,Sb)2Te3 generate strong second harmonics near 6.5 THz.
