The cat's out of the bag: Examining US wildlife trade of felids from 2000 to 2020

Felids feature heavily in the wildlife trade, and an investigation into LEMIS data from 2000 to 2020 showed felid imports were dominated by bobcats and Canada lynx for fur, while tigers and leopards were the most commonly traded cats in the illegal market, primarily as medicinal products.

Natural Parasitism of Nezara viridula (Linnaeus) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) by Trichopoda pictipennis Bigot (Diptera: Tachinidae) in an Organic Strawberry Field in Germany

Natural parasitism of the invasive southern green stinkbug was recorded in an organic strawberry cropping system in southwestern Germany. The tachinid fly Trichopoda pictipennis shows successful establishment and field activity, indicating ongoing range expansion.

Tachinidae (Diptera) as Floral Visitors and Pollinators in Natural and Managed Systems

We review the roles of bristle flies (Tachinidae) as pollinators in natural and managed systems. We find that most tachinid genera visit flowers and that floral‐adapted mouthparts have evolved repeatedly many times in the family. We review patterns of floral specificity and assess the efficacy of tachinids as pollinators with case studies.

Cryo‐EM structure of GH43 β‐Xylosidase from Enterobacter cloacae provides insights into substrate specificity and the role of an auxiliary domain in enzymatic activity

Xylan, the second most abundant plant cell wall polysaccharide, is degraded by β‐xylanases and β‐xylosidases. Here, we present the 2.65 Å cryo‐EM structure of Enterobacter cloacae β‐xylosidase (EcXyl43, GH43) and the 2.4 Å X‐ray structure of its inactive F507A mutant.

Incorporating light pollution into projections of the future distribution of Aspisoma sticticum Gemminger, 1870 under climate change in South America

Climate‐only models predict severe habitat contractions by 2100, especially in the Amazon, Cerrado and Caatinga, while southern and coastal Atlantic Forest areas remain refugial. Including artificial light at night increased projected stability and apparent suitability gains, especially in central and eastern South America.
