Microbiological flora of cell phones: a reservoir of potential pathogens?

open access: hybridInternational Journal of Medical Research and Review, 2017
Background: Hospital associated infections are a major problem in all hospital settings. The heavy use of cell phones which come in close contact with the body surfaces could act as a fomite for microorganisms and it can transmit pathogenic as well as non pathogenic microorganisms.

Microbiological Flora of Aquacultured Hybrid Striped Bass

open access: bronzeJournal of Food Protection, 1993
Aquacultured hybrid striped bass were examined for quantity and quality of microflora. Plate counts were performed at three temperatures (7, 22, and 35°C) under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Bacterial loads on the skin, gills, and intestines were similar to those reported for wild fish.

“MICROBIOLOGICAL FLORA OF HYGIENIC LIGATURES”- AN IN-VIVO STUDY [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Evolution of Medical and Dental sciences, 2013
Fixed or removable orthodontic appliances impede the maintenance of oral hygiene and result in plaque accumulation. Many studies have evaluated the effects of fixed orthodontic appliances on microbial flora and periodontal status, but only a few have evaluated the method of ligation as an additional factor.

Fast and Facile Biodegradation of Polystyrene by the Gut Microbial Flora of Plesiophthalmus davidis Larvae

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 2020
PS is widely produced in the modern world, but it is robust against biodegradation. A few studies reported the biodegradation of PS, but most of them merely observed its weight loss; fewer were able to find its chemical modifications, which are rather ...
