Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

Comparing the local floras of technogenous territories of Europe

open access: yes, 2003
The floristic peculiarities and species diversity of local floras of different territories of Europe have been shown. Basing on our own and literature data, we have analysed the degree of similarity of different floras of the technogenous territories ...

Designing Polymer Nanocomposites for X‐Ray Shielding: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Scalable Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights advances in lightweight, lead‐free polymer nanocomposites for diagnostic X‐ray shielding. By linking filler chemistry, dispersion, architecture, and photon interaction mechanisms, it establishes structure–performance relationships guiding material design.

A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF CYANOPROKARYOTES FLORAS OF EUROPEAN POLAR DESERT AND TUNDRA ZONES

open access: yesTransactions of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2018
A comparative analysis of the floras of cyanoprokaryotes at European high latitudes was carried out. The analysis relied on information from the literature and data from own longtermresearch in the polar desert of the Svalbard archipelago.

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Cretaceous angiosperm leaf floras from Antarctica [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Late Cretaceous angiosperm leaf floras from the Antarctic Peninsula have been studied and described for the first time. The Hidden Lake Formation (Coniacian) and Santa Marta Formation (Santonian-early Campanian) floras were preserved within shallow ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Local floras of the southwest, 1920–1980: an annotated bibliography

open access: yes, 1982
Local floras, that is, plant lists for relatively small areas, are widely scattered, often unpublished, and difficult to locate. Over 100 local floras from the southwestern United States (Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah) are listed and ...

Flora of Forfarshire /

open access: yes
This is the original version of the Flora of Forfarshire (1848) that rests at the Life Sciences Library at UT Austin. It comprises 308 pages with original descriptions of 135 species of plants (angiosperms, ferns, and algae) from the Forfar county in Scotland, some of which have a voucher of the plant in the supplementary volume. This copy of the Flora

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron
