Visualization of toner ink adsorption at bubble surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Flotation deinking involves interactions between inks particles and bubbles surfaces. These interactions are very difficult to observe directly or to quantify in bench-scale experiments or mill operations, making it difficult to evaluate effects of ...

Surface chemistry features in the flotation of KCl

open access: yes, 2010
Despite the successful industrial practice to recover KCl by flotation, the adsorption state of collectors at KCl salt surfaces is still not fully understood.

A Soft Robotic Fish With a Dielectric Elastomer Actuator Body and Negative Stiffness Spine

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces a bio‐mimetic soft robotic fish driven by fiber‐reinforced dielectric elastomer actuators integrated as its body. By prestretching this active skin against a flexible spine, a negative stiffness system is created, enabling large‐amplitude bending.

“SEVONETT” Flotator, A Large Capacity Flotator

open access: yesFLOTATION, 1969
It is desired that the whole pulp stays in a flotator sufficiently long, not too long not too short, to satisfy the flotation time. The anther tried to develop a new flotator to contribute in this respect. After ascertaining that two principles of counter current flotation and mechanical agitation flotation may be combined in a cell by a test, he ...

3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.

The effect of flotation cell shape on deinking behaviour

open access: yes, 2001
Studies were undertaken to investigate the deinking behaviour of different shaped deinking cells of the same volume. For comparative purposes, most oprational variables were kept constant, and the same injector was used throughout the study. The position

Multiphoton‐Printed Microrobotic Arrays Powered by Discrete, Monolithically Integrated Hydrogel Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Functional surfaces are investigated as a foundation for reconfigurable microscale systems with sensing and actuation capabilities. Advances in additive manufacturing enable our development of planar arrays of hybrid‐material, compliant microdevices that convert environmental stimuli into programmed motion and visual responses.
