Application of Flotation Column on Flotation of Copper Ore

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Two flotation columns replacing traditional flotation machine and vertical agitate mill were successfully used on copper production in Yangla mine. With introducing of these advanced machines, chalcopyrite with fine dissemination size could be absolutely liberated. In addition, the technological process was further optimized.

Effect of column height on flotation column performance

Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, 1988
The question is posed as to why columns typically have a collection zone 10 m high (H) by 1 m in diameter (D). Three geometry dependent factors are considered: degree of mixing, Np; volumetric bias rate, B; and volumetric gas rate, G. Increasing H:D decreased Np and B, which improves performance but decreases G, which causes the column to approach ...

Separation performance of mechanical flotation cell and cyclonic microbubble flotation column: in terms of the beneficiation of high-ash coal fines

Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental Effects, 2020
Separation performance of mechanical flotation cell and cyclonic microbubble flotation column (FCMC) was compared in terms of the beneficiation of high-ash coal fines that has the characteristics of the content of

Arsenopyrite enrichment by column flotation

Minerals Engineering, 1993
Abstract Arsenic-rich, gold-bearing pyrite concentrates may be further enriched in arsenic to assist subsequent Au beneficiation. Among several amines tested in refloating a local Chalkidiki pyrite concentrate, 2-coco 2-methyl ammonium chloride proved successful by raising the grade from 9% to 22%, although total solids recovery was low. The use of a

Selectivity in column flotation froths

International Journal of Mineral Processing, 1988
Abstract Selectivity in the froth zone of two industrial flotation columns in a Mo-cleaning circuit has been studied and modelled. Froth depth is shown to be a significant factor. Froths deeper than 1 m gave selective recovery of Mo, with upgrading of 10–15% absolute. Froths less than 50 cm showed no selectivity.

Carrying capacity in flotation columns

Minerals Engineering, 1996
The equation proposed by Espinosa-Gomez et. al. for the carrying capacity in flotation columns is revised to give better fit to the data. Flotation columns are found to be normally operated around 60% of their maximum carrying capacities.

Control alternatives for flotation columns

Minerals Engineering, 1993
Abstract The optimisation of flotation column operation relies mostly on the identification of the key variables to be controlled, how accurately they can be measured and how coordinately they can be dynamically influenced. Even though substantial efforts have been made during the last years, there is still a lack of process knowledge, which ...

Automatic Control of Flotation Columns

2010
Since their first commercial application for mineral separation in the early 1980s, flotation columns have become a standard piece of equipment in mineral concentrators particularly for cleaning operations. This chapter presents and discusses the most recent advances in instrumentation and automatic control of flotation columns.

Column flotation of iron ore

Minerals Engineering, 1992
Abstract Iron ore producers have come under increasing pressure to reduce the silica content of their concentrates. Many companies are considering reverse froth flotation circuits as a means of achieving the required silica levels. Column flotation is being given serious consideration for this service due to the low capital and operating cost of the ...
