Application of flotation kinetics models to chalcopyrite flotation: determination of optimum flotation times

Journal of Dispersion Science and Technology
This study advances the field of flotation kinetics by deriving and comparing optimum flotation time equations for eight different kinetic models in chalcopyrite beneficiation. While Agar (1985) established the method for finding the optimum flotation time for his specific model, this research extends the application to multiple established flotation ...

ABILITY OF KINETIC FLOTATION MODELS TO SIMULATE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN GRINDING AND FLOTATION

Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly, 2005

Flotation Kinetics and Fine Particle Flotation

2004
As with all physical and chemical processes flotation is a rate process governed by kinetic parameters, which are determined by several factors including the chemistry of the mineral-water interface, particle-bubble collision efficiency, and the strength of attachment of particles to the bubbles.

Dissolved air flotation: experiments and kinetic analysis

Journal of Water Supply: Research and Technology—AQUA, 1998
Based on the kinetic model of dissolved air flotation processes proposed in our previous paper, an experimental verification was carried out with batch and continuous flow apparatuses. We measured the characteristic properties of air bubbles, floc particles and their agglomerates.

Flotation kinetics of a pyritic gold ore

International Journal of Mineral Processing, 2011
Abstract Kinetics of semi-batch flotation behavior of a gold ore from North-Western Quebec, Canada was investigated with respect to fineness of grind (P80). The gold was mostly associated with pyrite in native form as inclusions and was also in contact with pyrite along the boundaries of non-sulphide gangue.

A kinetic model for batch coal flotation

Minerals Engineering, 1989
Abstract Experiments were carried out in a batch flotation cell using four coals at different levels of variables. From the results of these experiments, it is verified that the recoveries of non-ash and ash material from any size fraction follow first order kinetics given by the equation: R = R −8 (1 − e − kt ) It has ...

Modified Hallimond Tube for Flotation Kinetics Measurements

Separation Science and Technology, 1993
Abstract Flotation is an important method for separating particles of different chemical and physical natures from pulverized minerals. Flotation depends basically on the formation of a gas/liquid/solid interface where the solid particle becomes attached to a gas bubble as a result of its hydrophobic surface characteristics (1).

Process Mineralogy and Flotation Kinetic of a Copper Oxide Ore during Sulfuration Flotation

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
This study aims to investigate the process mineralogy of the Dishui copper ore in Xinjiang and determine the flotation kinetic equations of this copper ore during the sulfuration flotation process. The results indicate cuprite is the main form of oxide copper minerals, which is difficult to be vulcanized and floated.

Kinetic Flotation Modelling Using Froth Imaging Data

2018
Flotation models are mostly based on a chemical kinetic analogy of the removal of solid species, sometimes using distributions of rate constants to accommodate the observed variability. The kinetic model is based on the flux of bubble surface overflowing the concentrate weir in a free flowing froth. The kinetic model is also based on the flux of bubble

Froth Flotation Kinetics — Theory and Model Experiments

1992
The problem of froth kinetics is treated as a transport phenomenon. Two coupled equations of balance are formulated concerning the particles attached on the bubbles and the free particles in the pulp. Special attention is paid to the mode of interaction between particles and gas bubbles under dynamic conditions in a flotation cell.
