Flotation separation of strontium via phosphate precipitation [PDF]

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2017
Flotation separation of strontium (Sr) from wastewater via phosphate precipitation was investigated. While 37.33% of Sr precipitated at highly alkaline pH in the absence of PO43−, it completely precipitated as Sr3(PO4)2 at a molar ratio ([PO43−]:[Sr2+]) of 0.62 at a lower pH value.

Flotation separation of wolframite from calcite using a new trisiloxane surfactant as collector

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology, 2023
Since wolframite is usually associated with calcite, the separation and enrichment of wolframite by froth flotation remains a great challenge. Herein, a novel trisiloxane surfactant N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrisiloxane (AATS) was successful ...

CALCULATION OF FLOTATOR’S AERATOR FOR SEPARATION OF GROUND PLASTICS

open access: yesSERIES OF GEOLOGY AND TECHNICAL SCIENCES, 2022
When creating a new equipment for flotation separation of a mixture of ground secondary plastics, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of their properties due to the nature of polymers. So, in comparison with mineral materials, the surface of the ground plastics is less developed, and the particle size is larger.

Hydrodynamic aspects of flotation separation

open access: yesOpen Chemistry, 2016
AbstractFlotation separation is mainly used for removing particulates from aqueous dispersions. It is widely used for ore beneficiation and recovering valuable materials. This paper reviews the hydrodynamics of flotation separations and comments on selected recent publications. Units are distinguished as cells of ideal and non-ideal flow.

Reduction of Fe2O3 content of foyaite by flotation and magnetic separation for ceramics production

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2019
Feldspars are used as a fluxing agent in ceramics and glass production. However, the presence of iron-bearing minerals reduces whiteness of the ceramics. The objective of this work was to decrease the Fe2O3 content of a foyaite to

POLYMER WASTES’ FLOTATION SEPARATION RESEARCH RESULTS

open access: yesNEWS of National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2020
For separation of plastic wastes (polyamide (PA), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and polystyrene (PS), a flotation method is proposed. Using this method, the effect of concentration of surface-active substances (surfactants), which were used as polidocanol, sulphanole and a mixture of surfactants containing sodium laureth sulfate and ...

Anomalous Flotation of Separator Gel: Density or Viscosity? [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 2008
Blood collection tubes containing a thixotropic polyester gel are widely used for clinical laboratory testing. The gel, because of its intermediate density (1.04 g/cm3), physically separates the liquid component of the blood from the cells (densities of 1.03 and 1.09 g/cm3 respectively) after centrifugation, and forms a barrier between the liquid phase
