Production processes in Cellular Manufacturing Systems (CMS) often involve groups of parts sharing the same technological requirements in terms of tooling and setup. The issue of scheduling such parts through a flow-shop production layout is known as the

Open shop scheduling problems have many practical applications, in which the jobs can be in any order with the only restriction that their durations do not overlap with each other. In some cases, the order of a subset of jobs dictates the flow shop model

Cyclic flow shop scheduling problem with two-machine cells
In the paper a variant of cyclic production with setups and two-machine cell is considered. One of the stages of the problem solving consists of assigning each operation to the machine on which it will be carried out. The total number of such assignments

The Flow Shop problem with a server(带服务器的Flow Shop问题)

``Learning'' Bayesian heuristics in flow-shop problem
Summary: We compare two alternative ways to use the Bayesian approach in heuristic optimization. The ``no-learning'' way means that we optimize the randomization parameters for each problem separately. The ``learning'' way means that we optimize the randomization parameters for some ``learning'' set of problems.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an
