We present a new approach to the study of work flows in organizations. Using well-known modeling paradigms and existing computer-based tools, we show how to rapidly model and analyze complex work structures to improve throughput and resource utilization. The specification of a work flow is done using IDEFO (SADT), extended with behavioral details.

Flow chemistry vs. flow analysis
Talanta, 2016The flow mode of conducting chemical syntheses facilitates chemical processes through the use of on-line analytical monitoring of occurring reactions, the application of solid-supported reagents to minimize downstream processing and computerized control systems to perform multi-step sequences.

Cardiac flow component analysis
Medical Engineering & Physics, 2010In a chamber of the heart, large-scale vortices are shown to exist as the result of the dynamic blood flow and unique morphological changes of the chamber wall. As the cardiovascular flow varies over a cardiac cycle, there is a need for a robust quantification method to analyze its vorticity and circulation. We attempt to measure vortex characteristics

Flow cytometry, as the name suggests, is the analysis of cells (which carry one or more fluorescent labels) moving in a fluid flow (1,2). This technique has become widely used because of the enormous increase in the number and range of specificities of antibodies to cell determinants.

Abstract The concept of a new continuous flow analyser system is described. Based on instant discrete sampling by injection into a carrier stream, the system allows continuous flow analysis to be performed in a fast, much simplified way. As the continuous flowing stream is characterized by a turbulent rather than a laminar flow, the discrete instant ...

Flow-reversal flow-injection analysis Enhancement of flow-injection titrations
Talanta, 1991Most FIA applications involve simple unidirectional continuous-flow regimes. This paper continues the development of the flow-reversal (frFIA) approach and its applications. Flow-reversal flow programming achieves flexibility in operation without requiring manifolds to be refitted. The sensitivity of FIA titrations can be increased by use of frFIA.
