Raised-Volume Forced Expiratory Flow-Volume Curve in Healthy Taiwanese Infants

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The raised-volume rapid thoracoabdominal compression (RVRTC) manoeuvre has been applied to obtain full forced expiratory flow-volume curves in infants. No reference data are available for Asian populations.

Physical habitat simulation for small-sized characid fish species from tropical rivers in Brazil

open access: yesNeotropical Ichthyology, 2018
Physical habitat simulation (PHABSIM) is an important step of the instream flow incremental methodology (IFIM), which is applied to establish environmental flow regimes.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Well test interpretation model about interporosity flow outside casing around vertical well in dual layer reservoir

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa, 2018
In order to monitor and prevent the channeling outside the casing, we established a well-testing interpretive mathematical model of the vertical wells in dual layer reservoir considering the semi-permeability of the interlaminar and the bore hole storage

Application of the Constitutive Model in Finite Element Simulation: Predicting the Flow Behavior for 5754 Aluminum Alloy during Hot Working

open access: yesMetals, 2017
The flow behavior of 5754 aluminum alloy was researched using the plane strain compression test for the range of 300–500 °C and 0.1–10 s−1. The experimental flow curves acquired directly from Gleeble-3500 show that deformation parameters have a ...

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Plastometric tests for plasticine as physical modelling material

open access: yesOpen Engineering, 2016
This paper presents results of plastometric tests for plasticine, used as material for physical modelling of metal forming processes. The test was conducted by means of compressing by flat dies of cylindrical billets at various temperatures.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

An improved procedure for generating pseudorelative permeabilities for water flooding in stratified reservoirs

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2018
This paper presents an improved procedure for generating pseudorelative permeability curves for stratified water flooding using either constant pressures or constant flux at the reservoir/grid block boundaries.
