Calibration of flow-volume curves

Lung, 1978
We have constructed a motor-driven calibrating device which simulates a highly reproducible maximum expiratory flow-volume curve. The calibrator can be used to assess the dynamic performance of spirometric instruments. Regular use of the calibrator helps to ensure constancy of measurements obtained from flow-volume or volume-time recording systems. The

Spirometry and Flow-Volume Curves

Clinics in Chest Medicine, 1989
Spirometry is the best and most widely used pulmonary function test. Equipment recommendations are made and performance information about different types of spirometers is given. Methods for obtaining clinically applicable spirometric results for use in making diagnostic and treatment decisions are presented.

Pressure‐flow curves in infancy

Pediatric Pulmonology, 1985
AbstractCalibrated pressure‐flow (P‐V) curves were plotted by computer using data from both the plethysmographic method for measuring airway resistance and the esophageal balloon technique for measuring lung resistance. P‐V curves from 100 sick, healthy, and convalescent infants (age range 2 days to 19 months, weight range 0.9–10.4 kg) were classified ...
