Poiseuille flow in curved spaces [PDF]
We investigate Poiseuille channel flow through intrinsically curved media, equipped with localized metric perturbations. To this end, we study the flux of a fluid driven through the curved channel in dependence of the spatial deformation, characterized by the parameters of the metric perturbations (amplitude, range and density).

The Effect of Temperature on the Reaction of Polyimide Suspension to Applied Voltage [PDF]
The electrorheological properties of a new class of “smart materials”, electrorheological suspensions based on nano-sized polymer particles of polyimides, are discussed in the paper.

The Yield Stress of Cement Pastes as Obtained by Different Rheological Approaches
Different rheological methods for yield stress estimation of cement pastes during initial hydration were used and results were compared. These methods include measuring of the hysteresis loop, flow curves (recalculated to the same time of hydration) and ...

Curve shortening-straightening flow for non-closed planar curves with infinite length
We consider a motion of non-closed planar curves with infinite length. The motion is governed by a steepest descent flow for the geometric functional which consists of the sum of the length functional and the total squared curvature.

Application of Rheological Modeling in Food Emulsions [PDF]
Various scaling methods such as relative viscosity, Peclet and Reynolds scaling were used to find the best scaling law. Scaling and modeling of the flow curves of various model emulsions consist of Tragacanth Gum (TG) (0.5, 1 % wt), Oleic acid (5, 10% v/v)

The application of time-flow curves in hydropower calculations [PDF]
Curves developed by hydrologists are used to assess energy resources of rivers, and determine installation parameters of hydroelectric plants. They facilitate the determination of the flows’ value, as well their long-term, annual and seasonal volatility.

Modeling of Tensile Tests Flow Curves Using an Explicit Piecewise Inverse Approach
Tensile tests are a common method for characterizing plastic behavior for sheet metal forming applications. During tensile testing at the beginning of the deformation, the stress state is uniaxial; however, as the deformation proceeds, the state changes ...

Analytical flow duration curves for summer streamflow in Switzerland [PDF]
This paper proposes a systematic assessment of the performance of an analytical modeling framework for streamflow probability distributions for a set of 25 Swiss catchments. These catchments show a wide range of hydroclimatic regimes, including namely

Centro-affine curvature flows on centrally symmetric convex curves [PDF]
We consider two types of $p$-centro affine flows on smooth, centrally symmetric, closed convex planar curves, $p$-contracting, respectively, $p$-expanding. Here $p$ is an arbitrary real number greater than 1. We show that, under any $p$-contracting flow,
