A step toward global-scale applicability and transferability of flow duration curve studies: A flow duration curve review (2000–2020)

Journal of Hydrology, 2021
Abstract This paper reviews the current status of flow duration curve (FDC) studies that attempt to relate climate and catchment attributes to reproduce or explain the process controls on its shape – toward improving global-scale applicability and transferability of FDC studies.

Implementation of flow duration curves for evaluating the environmental flow

Global NEST International Conference on Environmental Science & Technology, 2022
In this research work, the implementation of Flow Duration Curves (FDC) was assessed, as a mean of estimating the environmental flow (e-flow) in rivers segments in Greece. The FDC of fifteen river basins varying in size and geomorphological characteristics and covering a wide area of mainland Greece, were derived by using high quality monthly discharge

Flow Duration Curve Using Entropy Theory

Journal of Hydrologic Engineering, 2014
AbstractUsing the entropy theory, this study derives a function for modeling the flow duration curve (FDC) based on two equations that form simple constraints: (1) the total probability of all flow discharges, and (2) the mean discharge. Parameters of the derived curve are determined from the entropy theory with the use of these two constraints.
