Alternative for the regionalization of flow duration curves

Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research, 2019
The objective of the present work is to produce a regionalization model of flow duration curves, proposing the grouping of watersheds as a function of the drainage area without the use of cluster a...

Regionalization of Flow Duration Curves for West Flowing Rivers of India

2021
A flow duration curve (FDC) by providing a concise description of the temporal variability of streamflow from a river basin is extremely useful as a hydrological signature and also in the design of water resources projects. However, long-term historical measured streamflow records are essential to derive the FDC, and hence, a major challenge has been ...

Regional analysis of flow duration curves for a limestone region

Water Resources Management, 1996
The methodology proposed permits the regional analysis of that part of the duration curve which refers to droughts. It only requires (1) the definition of an equation, characterised by a set of parameters, describing the lower part of the duration curve and (2) the identification of a suitable number of statistical regional laws enabling the parameters

Flow duration curve estimation

1990
This work presents a particular method for obtaining duration curves for ungauged sites. Il solves some probems found with other models, the research suggest a correlation between statistical parameters of distribution, which better adjust observed data, and hydrogeomorphological characteristics of the basin.

Ecologically Sustainable Watershed Management using Annualized Flow Duration Curves

Bridging the Gap, 2001
A challenge for policy makers is to formulate a withdrawal permitting strategy with a sound scientific basis that maintains ecosystem ecological integrity and resource sustainability. The proposed annualized flow duration curve (AFDC) framework can provide such a basis.

Flow‐Duration Curves. I: New Interpretation and Confidence Intervals

Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management, 1994
A flow-duration curve (FDC) is simply the complement of the cumulative distribution function of daily, weekly, monthly (or some other time interval of) streamflow. Applications of FDCs include, but are not limited to, hydropower planning, water-quality management, river and reservoir sedimentation studies, habitat suitability, and low-flow augmentation.

Regionalization of Flow Duration Curves in Southern Italy

The Flow Duration Curve (“FDC”) is one the most effective and practical tools in hydrological sciences that not only enhances the understanding of the hydrological process of basins but also assists in analyzing water availability and stream flow fluctuations. The most significant challenge hydrologists have to face is an absence or
