Flow Duration Curves from Surface Reflectance in the Near Infrared Band

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Flow duration curve (FDC) is a cumulative frequency curve that shows the percent of time a specific discharge has been equaled or exceeded during a particular period of time at a given river location, providing a comprehensive description of the ...

The Role of Rainy Days in Predicting the Flow Duration Curve in Different Climates of Iran [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش‌های آبخیزداری, 2019
The Improvement and development of predictions in ungauged catchments require recognizing effective factors and understanding the interactions between different components of the catchments and hydrological response in different climatic zones.

Analytical confidence intervals for index flow flow duration curves [PDF]

open access: yesWater Resources Research, 2011
This study illustrates how analytical period‐of‐record flow duration curves (FDCs) and annual FDCs (AFDCs) of daily streamflow series developed in an index flow framework can be complemented by theoretical confidence intervals (CIs) deduced from the theory of nonparametric CIs for quantiles and fractional order statistics.

Simplified approach in karst aquifer characterization by using discharge variability, storage capacity, and void development: A preliminary study in the tropical karst region

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science, 2023
One of the main challenges in karst water management is the limited availability of measured hydrogeological data. This research aimed to employ a simplified approach for aquifer characterization by applying discharge variability, storage capacity, and ...

Dimensionless flow Duration Curve in Natural River [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Korea Water Resources Association, 2003
【Flow duration curves provide

A tool for drought planning in Oklahoma: Estimating and using drought-influenced flow exceedance curves

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology: Regional Studies, 2017
Study region: The study region is the state of Oklahoma, USA, which has a varied climate. Precipitation increases west to east, and temperature decreases south to north across the state. Accordingly, Oklahoma has been divided into nine Climate Divisions,

Performance evaluation of flow duration curves regionalization methods [PDF]

open access: yesRBRH, 2019
ABSTRACT The main objective of the study was the evaluation of Characteristic Values and Exponential Curve methods as alternatives for flow permanence curves regionalization. Additionally, the use of regional flow indicators for the appropriation of reference flows associated with flow permanence curves was evaluated.

Calibration of hydrological models using flow-duration curves [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2010
Abstract. The degree of belief we have in predictions from hydrologic models will normally depend on how well they can reproduce observations. Calibrations with traditional performance measures, such as the Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency, are challenged by problems including: (1) uncertain discharge data, (2) variable sensitivity of different ...

Technical note: Statistical generation of climate-perturbed flow duration curves

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2023
Abstract. Assessing the robustness of a water resource system's performance under climate change involves exploring a wide range of streamflow conditions. This is often achieved through rainfall–runoff models, but these are commonly validated under historical conditions with no guarantee that calibrated parameters would still be valid in a different ...
