Flow field analysis of grooved surfaces

International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology, 2018
In the present study, two-dimensional turbulent flow over rectangular and octagonal grooves in a channel is analyzed numerically. Investigations are performed for two different Reynolds numbers, Re = 615 and 1230 in terms of velocity and temperature field.

Computerized flow field analysis: oriented texture fields

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 1992
An approach to the solution of signal-to-symbol transformation in the domain of flow fields, such as oriented texture fields and velocity vector fields, is discussed. The authors use the geometric theory of differential equations to derive a symbol set based on the visual appearance of phase portraits which are a geometric representation of the ...

Flow field analysis of rudder in CFD

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2021
This paper analysis the failure causes of the combat jet aircraft rudder which occurred during fight mission. A rudder sizing method is used to determine the size of rudder, ANSYS is used for flow analysis of rudder and pro-e is used to design the rudder. The longitudinal crack occurred from the corrosion pit and the inner surface of rudder was heavily

Analysis of plant ribosomes with asymmetric flow field-flow fractionation

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2013
Ribosome profiling is a technique used to separate ribosomal subunits, 80S ribosomes (monosomes), and polyribosomes (polysomes) from other RNA-protein complexes. It is traditionally performed in sucrose gradients. In this study, we used asymmetric flow field-flow fractionation (AsFlFFF) to characterize ribosome profiles of Nicotiana benthamiana plants.

Flow field-flow fractionation: recent trends in protein analysis

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2010
Flow field-flow fractionation (F4) is the gentlest flow-assisted separation technique for analysis of macromolecules. The use of an empty channel as separation device and of a second mobile phase flow as perpendicular field enable F4 to separate analytes under native conditions without any modification of their original structure.

Separation of mitochondria by flow field-flow fractionation for proteomic analysis

The Analyst, 2008
Flow field-flow fractionation (FlFFF) has been utilized for size-based separation of rat liver mitochondria. Collected fractions of mitochondria of various sizes were examined by confocal microscopy, and mitochondria of each fraction were lysed and analyzed by two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2D-PAGE) for the comparison of protein ...
