Characteristics of cross-field flowing molecular lasers

1970 International Electron Devices Meeting, 1970
In the cross-field laser, the premixed gas flow is channeled transveres to the stabilized electrical discharge column. The crossed magnetic field, mutually perpendicular to the discharge axial electric field and the gas flow velocity, is used to stabilize the discharge parallel with the optical axis of the resonator.

Flow field and acoustics characteristics of elliptical jet

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 2018
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present the results of mixing promotion and screech frequency of controlled elliptical supersonic jet. Design/methodology/approach Flow field characteristics of low-aspect-ratio elliptical jets are examined at over-expanded, under-expanded and correctly expanded conditions.

Dynamic evaluation of field characteristics by pedestrian flow

2017 11th Asian Control Conference (ASCC), 2017
This paper describes the measurement to take traffic lines of pedestrian flows outdoors and the investigation of dynamic characteristics by using the density, direction, velocity distribution and so on. These parameters become indexes of the congestion and the dangerousness.

General Characteristics of Hypersonic Flow Fields

The Journal of the Royal Aeronautical Society, 1959
SummaryThe object of this paper is to give a brief account of the development of the study of hypersonic flow over the past three decades, and to stress some of the ways in which hypersonic flow differs from supersonic flow. In some of the early work on the subject a wrong emphasis was given to the study of flows with attached shock waves and to the ...

Modelling spatio‐temporal flow characteristics in groyne fields

River Research and Applications, 2008
AbstractThe spatio‐temporal distribution of residence times and water ages in groyne fields plays an important role for a number of biotic processes, particularly conditioning nutrient dynamics and phytoplankton growth. Experimental determination of these parameters involves time‐consuming field work and is often limited to the water surface depending ...

Flow Field Characteristics Simulation of the Exhaust Hood

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Cooking fume(CF) with harmful pollutants and heat is paid more attention to by many peple. Physical and mathematical model are established on the basis of standard kitchen, and flow field characteristics(FFC) of the exhaust hood(EH) is simulated by CFD.

Flow and pressure field characteristics around pyramidal buildings

Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, 2006
An experimental investigation of the flow and pressure characteristics around pyramidal buildings is presented. The experiments were conducted in a boundary layer wind tunnel. The velocities of the flow around the pyramids and the pressure distribution on the pyramid surfaces were measured using 2D laser Doppler anemometry (LDA) and standard pressure ...

Flow field characteristics of swirling double concentric jets

Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2001
Abstract The flow structures and turbulence properties of double concentric jets with a large separation between the central jet and swirling annular flows are studied using the smoke-wire flow visualization technique and a two-component laser Doppler velocimeter.

Velocity field characteristics of a swirling flow combustor

AIAA Journal, 1983
Data for reacting and nonreacting flows obtained by laser anemometry in a swirl combustor are reported and discussed. The combustor consists of two confined, concentric swirling jets. The central jet flow is premixed methane/air; the annular jet flow is air.

Flow field and noise characteristics of a supersonic impinging jet

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1998
This paper describes the results of a study examining the flow and acoustic characteristics of an axisymmetric supersonic jet issuing from a sonic and a Mach 1.5 converging–diverging (C–D) nozzle and impinging on a ground plane. Emphasis is placed on the Mach 1.5 nozzle with the sonic nozzle used mainly for comparison.
