Study of Gas–Liquid Two-Phase Flow Characteristics at the Pore Scale Based on the VOF Model
To study the effects of liquid properties and interface parameters on gas–liquid two-phase flow in porous media. The volume flow model of gas–liquid two-phase flow in porous media was established, and the interface of the two-phase flow was reconstructed

RESEARCH ON FLOW SHIFT LAW OF POROUS MEDIA IN GOAF BASE ON THE UNSTEADY AIRFLOW THEORY [PDF]
Based on unsteady flow theory, supported by the theories of mine ventilation, fluid mechanics and infiltration flow through porous media, a mathematical model of fluctuating airflow in the porous media of goafs of mines is established.

Viscous Flow through Porous Media
The resistance of a porous medium to a fluid streaming through it is estimated by minimizing the rate of energy dissipation for a class of trial stress distributions. Rigorously valid lower bounds on the resistance are obtained in terms of certain two- and three-point averages characterizing the medium.

The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...

A Novel Decellularized Fibrocartilage Graft Promotes Tympanic Membrane Repair
An off‐the‐shelf decellularized porcine meniscus fibrocartilage graft (MEND) is engineered for pediatric tympanoplasty. Featuring a microchannel architecture that promotes host cell invasion, MEND rapidly closes tympanic membrane perforations and fully remodels in vivo, outperforming fascia and matching cartilage grafts while avoiding donor‐site ...

Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Spatial Characterization of Wetting in Porous Media Using Local Lattice-Boltzmann Simulations [PDF]
Wettability is one of the critical parameters affecting multiphase flow in porous media. The wettability is determined by the affinity of fluids to the rock surface, which varies due to factors such as mineral heterogeneity, roughness, ageing, and pore ...

The incorporation of nondigested ECM and synthetic polymers into a co‐electrospinning system enables the decoupling of bioactivity and mechanical properties within a single wrap. This technique is used to develop a multifunctional bone wrap that achieves augmented membrane durability, sustained infection control, and enhanced vascularity for use in ...
