One‐Step Curcumin‐Mediated Multiphoton Lithography for Bioactive 3D Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Curcumin‐mediated multiphoton lithography enables one‐step fabrication of highly architected complex gelatin methacryloyl scaffolds by exploiting curcumin as a multifunctional bioactive photoinitiator. The resulting 3D structures support mesenchymal stem cell adhesion, proliferation, and migration, while exhibiting dual antibacterial activity through ...

Interaction‐Driven Assembly Pathways in Heterogeneous Active Microrobotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Peanut‐ and cube‐shaped light‐powered microrobots exhibit distinct magnetic and photocatalytic responses that determine their heterogeneous self‐assembly. In the dark, magnetic dipole interactions drive colloidal copolymerization with cubes acting as nucleation centers, whereas under light irradiation, phoretic interactions compete with magnetic ...

Flow-induced vibration response analysis of windshield of high-speed train based on proper orthogonal decomposition and pseudo excitation method

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics
The flow-induced vibration of the outer windshield of high-speed train intensifies as the train's speed increases, impacting stability and safety during operation. The vibration characteristics of outer windshields are crucial for optimizing higher-speed

Mitigating flow induced vibration in heater radiant coil

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2018
Vibration of process heater tubes in a fired heater can cause fretting-wear damage of the tubes at the locations of contact points with the supports.

Molecular Rotors: From Newtonian Fluids to Functional Materials as Viscosity and Temperature Sensing Tools

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular rotors are fluorescent molecules that are sensitive to viscosity and temperature variations in the environment. They exhibit a direct correlation between fluorescence and viscosity within Newtonian fluids. However, this correlation becomes less straightforward in complex systems.

An Experimental Study on Vortex-Induced Vibration Suppression of a Long Flexible Catenary Cable by Using Vibration Dampers

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
In this paper, an experimental study is conducted to investigate the effectiveness of vibration dampers in suppressing vortex-induced vibration in a long, flexible catenary cable with a low mass ratio.

Charge‐Tunable Coacervate Micelles for Separator Engineering in Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A separator engineering strategy based on charge‐tunable complex coacervate core micelles (C3Ms) is presented to form an ion‐selective layer regulating polysulfide transport in Li–S batteries. The micelles enable uniform adsorption onto commercial polypropylene separators and infiltration throughout the internal pore network, suppressing polysulfide ...

Sulfation‐Tunable Peptide‐Glycosaminoglycan Hydrogels for Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cell Expansion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐assembly of rationally designed glycosaminoglycan‐binding peptides with sulfated glycosaminoglycans yields supramolecular hydrogels with tunable mechanics and matrix‐mediated cytokine retention. The glycosaminoglycans thereby act as cofactors, driving a coil‐to‐β‐sheet transition that triggers gelation.
