Dynamic visualization of two-phase flow patterns in a natural circulation loop

open access: yes, 2010
[[abstract]]Dynamic image processing techniques based on gray level were developed in this study to investigate the variation of two-phase Bow patterns in the riser and its interaction with other thermal hydraulic behavior in a natural circulation loop ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Two-loop gradient-flow renormalization of scalar QCD

open access: yesSciPost Physics Core
The gradient-flow formalism is applied to a non-Abelian gauge theory with scalar and fermionic particles, dubbed "scalar QCD". It is shown that the flowed scalar quark requires a field renormalization, albeit only beyond the one-loop level.

Gases vacuum dedusting and cooling

open access: yesTrudy Odesskogo Politehničeskogo Universiteta, 2015
Represented are the results of operating the ladle degassing vacuum plant (productivity: 120 tons of liquid steel) with various dust collectors. The process gases’ cooling and dedusting, obtained in the closed loop buran study, provides opportunity to ...

Acute caffeine treatment protects the developing retina from ischemia‐induced cell death

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caffeine reduces cell death in the developing retina under ischemia (OGD). This effect does not involve BDNF upregulation or antioxidant pathways (NRF2/VEGF). Neuroprotection occurs mainly through adenosine A2A receptor antagonism, decreasing glutamate release and excitotoxicity, highlighting caffeine's potential as an acute neuroprotective agent in ...

Guiding AlphaFold to predict how Munc13‐1 opens Syntaxin‐1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The syntaxin‐1 Habc‐domain (orange), linker (pink) and SNARE motif (yellow) form a closed conformation that binds to Munc18‐1 (violet) and is opened by the Munc13‐1 MUN domain (cyan) to form the SNARE complex that triggers neurotransmitter release.
