The Vital Role of Blood Flow-Induced Proliferation and Migration in Capillary Network Formation in a Multiscale Model of Angiogenesis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Sprouting angiogenesis and capillary network formation are tissue scale phenomena. There are also sub-scale phenomena involved in angiogenesis including at the cellular and intracellular (molecular) scales.

Numerical assessment of stability behaviour in supercritical CO2 based NCLS configured with heater h

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Engineering, 2023
Three-dimensional numerical analysis is presented in this study to assess the transient and stability behaviour of supercritical CO2 (sCO2) based NCLs configured with three different types of heat sources, i.e., heater, a hot heat exchanger (HHX) and ...

Gas Test Loop Booster Fuel Hydraulic Testing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The Gas Test Loop (GTL) project is for the design of an adaptation to the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) to create a fast-flux test space where fuels and materials for advanced reactor concepts can undergo irradiation testing.

A MULTIPHASE FLOW LOOP DESIGN FOR INVESTIGATING THE PARTIAL PHASE SEPARATION IN A PIPE TEE

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2019
This article presents a design and commissioning of a multiphase flow loop, which was developed for scrutinizing the partial phase separation characteristics of pipe Tees. Its length is 9m and its primary diameter is 0.078m (3 inches).

Flow Volume Loops in Patients With Goiters

open access: yesAnnals of Surgery, 1992
Plain radiology is the standard means of assessing upper airway obstruction in patients with goiters. Flow volume loop curves will provide additional information, because they allow a quantitative assessment of airflow dynamics in the respiratory cycle. Fifty-one patients had flow volume loops performed before and after thyroidectomy.

Decoupler Design for an Interacting Tanks System

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2008
The mathematical model for the two interacting tanks system was derived and the dynamic behavior of this system was studied by introducing a step change in inlet flow rate.

A model of flow in a helium loop [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
Naturally circulated helium loop is a device designed for a decay heat removal from fast nuclear reactors of the type ALLEGRO. The flow is provided by a potential energy difference between hot and cold piping branch. Here we introduce a 1D model of flow in the loop.

Loop Leaping with Closures (proof appendix for conference submission) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Loop leaping is the colloquial name given to a form of program analysis in which summaries are derived for nested loops starting from the innermost loop and proceeding in a bottom-up fashion considering one more loop at a time.

Spontaneous quantization of the Yang–Mills gradient flow

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
We formulate a nonsingular loop–space calculus for the Yang–Mills (YM) gradient flow directly in terms of Wilson loop functionals, rather than the underlying gauge fields.
