Optimal Hamiltonian of Fermion Flows [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Computer Science, vol. 1, no. 2, p.151-164(2006). MR2233280, 2013
After providing a general formulation of Fermion flows within the context of Hudson-Parthasarathy quantum stochastic calculus, we consider the problem of determining the noise coefficients of the Hamiltonian associated with a Fermion flow so as to minimize a naturally associated quadratic performance functional. This extends to Fermion flows results of

A Simulative Evaluation of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Structures in the Context of Elastocaloric Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simulative evaluation of triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) structures for an elastocaloric application under compressive load is performed. For the evaluation of the structure's performance, surface/volume ratio, generated heat and invested mechanical work are taken into account and are compared to a tube as a reference specimen.

Generalized geometry, T-duality, and renormalization group flow [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We interpret the physical $B$-field renormalization group flow in the language of Courant algebroids, clarifying the sense in which this flow is the natural "Ricci flow" for generalized geometry. Next we show that the $B$-field renormalization group flow preserves T-duality in a natural sense.

Convergence results for gradient flow and gradient descent systems in the artificial neural network training [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The field of artificial neural network (ANN) training has garnered significant attention in recent years, with researchers exploring various mathematical techniques for optimizing the training process. In particular, this paper focuses on advancing the current understanding of gradient flow and gradient descent optimization methods.

Comparative Study of Experimental Methods for Measuring Thermal Properties of 100Cr6 Steel Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the thermal properties of 100Cr6 steel in both bulk and powder forms. Measuring the very low thermal conductivity typically exhibited by powders poses significant challenges. To address this, two novel measurement techniques—temperature gradient and finite laser pulse response—are introduced and evaluated by comparison with the ...

Facile Synthesis of CuxS Electrocatalysts for CO2 Conversion into Formate and Study of Relations Between Cu and S with the Selectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Copper sulfide based electrocatalysts for CO2 conversion are selective for production of formate as major product. Transformations under electrochemical conditions result in significant sulfur loss, and this study examines the nature of how persistent, residual sulfur (observed as surface SO42– species and S dissolved in the electrolyte) can sustain ...

Sentiment analysis on Twitter data towards climate action

open access: yesResults in Engineering, 2023
Understanding the progress of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations (UN) is important, but difficult. In particular, policymakers would need to understand the sentiment within the public regarding challenges associated ...
