Pulsations of intermediate-mass stars on the asymptotic giant branch [PDF]
Evolutionary tracks from the zero age main sequence to the asymptotic giant branch were computed for stars with initial masses 2M_\odot

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Active Design and Characteristic Analysis of Gear Pump with Low Pulsation
In order to solve the problem of large flow ripple of gear pumps,an active design method for gear pumps with low flow pulsation is proposed. The basic design thought is to control the shape of the tooth profile by specifying the values of the flow ...

Stiffness pulsation of the human brain detected by non-invasive time-harmonic elastography
Introduction: Cerebral pulsation is a vital aspect of cerebral hemodynamics. Changes in arterial pressure in response to cardiac pulsation cause cerebral pulsation, which is related to cerebrovascular compliance and cerebral blood perfusion ...

ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

Heat Transfer in Pulsating Flow [PDF]
WHEN pulsations are imposed on a flowing fluid, it may normally be expected that heat transfer to or from it would be changed because the pulsations would alter the thickness of the boundary layer and hence the thermal resistance. In the laminar region, this view is also supported by the fact shown by Richardson1 that the velocity profile for pulsating

Anchorage‐independent and faster growth in clonal population from UV‐irradiated NER‐deficient cells
UV‐irradiated cells expressing a DDB2 mutant protein unable to interact with PCNA (DDB2PCNA‐) form clones able to grow without anchorage. Different experimental approaches reveal heterogeneity in cell cycle regulation and drug response within these clones, emphasizing the crucial role of the DDB2‐PCNA interaction in preventing cellular transformation ...
