Estimation of heat-flow rate from fluid-flow rate
Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2020Abstract This paper presents a simplified analytical model to translate the fluid-flow rate into the heat-flow rate by incorporating the Joule-Thompson effect. Single-phase fluid flow in the formation and into the wellbore is the prime consideration of this study. The proposed approach combines the Darcy flow equation with that of Fourier's heat flow

High-flow-rate hydroxylapatites
Analytical Biochemistry, 1985We have established a novel and simple method for preparing rigidly crystallized or granulated hydroxylapatites, which showed flow rates one order of magnitude higher in column chromatography than those of the Tiselius specimen (1). The essential difference in the procedures from the Tiselius method is that calcium phosphate, the precursor of ...

The flow rates of the 18- to 24-gauge catheters most commonly used in pediatrics were studied to determine which catheters and infusion techniques allowed for rapid volume replacement in infants and children. As expected, short, large-diameter catheters were found to have a higher flow rate, and flows under pressure in the largest catheters tested were

Flow-Rate Estimates for Rectilinear Pipe Flow
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1974A means is established for finding upper and lower bounds on the flow rate of viscous incompressible fluids in straight pipes. Bounds are derived for a class of flow regions having as cross section a strip or annulus, and used to deduce an approximation appropriate to such sections when they are thin. Explicit error-bound results are included.
