ABSTRACT Background Chronic limb‐threatening ischemia (CLTI) is a severe form of lower‐extremity artery disease characterized by distal lesions and microcirculatory impairment, limiting revascularization efficacy. Rheocarna is a direct hemoperfusion low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) adsorption device with potential rheological and anti‐inflammatory ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

ABSTRACT Background Establishing a comprehensive apheresis medicine program in a resource‐constrained setting presents significant structural, financial, and logistical challenges. Despite the growing clinical importance of apheresis services globally, published experience from sub‐Saharan Africa remains sparse.

Angular Rate Sensing by Circulatory Vortex Flow: Design, Simulation and Experiment
A fully packaged convective vortex gyrometer actuated by a PZT diaphragm is reported. The flow circulates at higher velocity after each actuating circle to form a vortex in the desired chamber. The vortex is characterized by hotwire anemometry.

The flow field, vortex behaviour and pressure losses in a small-scale cyclone have been studied at a wide range of flow rate 0.23-39.7 NLPM (measured at 1 atm and 20 degrees C) using the LES simulations that have been validated based on experimental ...

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Analysis of Flow Meters Calibration [PDF]
Calibration data of flow meters are often reported using the so called calibration coefficient, i.e. the ratio between the reference flow rate (or equivalent quantity, e.g.

Order Flow and Exchange Rate Dynamics [PDF]
Macroeconomic models of nominal exchange rates perform poorly. In sample, R2 statistics as high as 10 percent are rare. Out of sample, these models are typically out-forecast by a na‹ve random walk. This paper presents a model of a new kind.
