Flow Simulator - a flow-based network simulator

EUROCON 2007 - The International Conference on "Computer as a Tool", 2007
This paper describes a network simulation tool working at a flow level basis. The tool, written in C++, was developed specially for the flow aware networking (FAN) architecture -it assumes fair queueing according to the priority fair queueing and priority deficit round robin algorithms.

Simulating hospital patient flows

Journal of the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health, 1998
This case study development has benefited by the use of clear on-screen logic which has facilitated useful discussions between the analyst and end-users. The screen displays enable a realistic depiction of a system to be developed. A simple first model was gradually made more realistic in a step-by-step process involving both analyst and end-users. The

Neurovascular flow simulation review

Neurological Research, 1998
Computer simulation of the cerebral circulation has been carried out for three decades. We review the developments of cerebral circulation computer models of the last 30 years. Existing models are discussed in terms of fluid dynamics and possible clinical usage. Also the status and new achievements in some related research areas are summarized. Any new

Blood flow simulation during flow‐mediated dilation

Electronics and Communications in Japan, 2018
AbstractEndothelial dysfunction is known to be the early stage of arteriosclerosis. The flow‐mediated dilation (FMD) test is the most commonly used method to diagnose the endothelial function. The test measures the maximum vasodilation (FMD response) on the brachial artery induced by the increases in blood flow after cuff deflation on the forearm.

Hypervelocity Flow Simulation

Applied Mechanics Reviews, 1994
Many of the flow problems associated with flight vehicles designed to reach or return from space can not be solved computationally. It is essential to address them by experiment, in particular, by ground simulation of the flow. The requirements and most successful simulation techniques are described, and their important limitations are discussed.

Simulating shear flow

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1996
In the present article, we have analyzed to which extent the steady states produced in simulations of fluids undergoing shear flow, can truly be representations of experimental steady states. For this purpose, we have performed nonequilibrium molecular dynamics (NEMD) simulations of two different fluid systems undergoing shear flow.

Flow Simulation System

Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1974
The Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago has developed a computer program system to simulate flood flows in Chicago area waterways. The basic algorithms employed in the programming are presented. Descriptions of input data requirements and output information are presented. A comparison of results with gaging records is included.

TRANSIENT SIMULATION OF RADIATING FLOWS

Proceeding of the 4th International Symposium on Radiative Transfer, 2004
Abstract Time-dependent Navier–Stokes equations are solved in conjunction with the radiative transfer equation by coupling a previously developed direct numerical simulation-based computational fluid dynamics code to an existing radiation code, both based on the method of lines approach.

Numerical Simulation of Electroosmotic Flow

Analytical Chemistry, 1998
We have developed a numerical scheme to simulate electroosmotic flows in complicated geometries. We studied the electroosmotic injection characteristics of a cross-channel device for capillary electrophoresis. We found that the desired rectangular shape of the sample plug at the intersection of the cross-channel can be obtained when the injection is ...
