Rotating Flow Simulations with OpenFOAM
Rotating flow problems have a wide range of applications in several technical fields, e.g. gas turbines, water turbines, wind turbines, aircraft engines, chemical engineering, process engineering, or medical devices. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has gain significant importance for the physical analysis and mechanical design of rotating flow ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Traffic Flow Simulator by Multiagent
Several methods have been proposed for investigating complex traffic flows. However, the dynamics of vehicles and their drivers' characteristics, which are important factors for any traffic flow analysis, have not been considered sufficiently enough in the past. This paper describes a new concept for simulating complex traffic flows by multiple agents.

Heterogeneous Multiscale Simulations of Suspension Flow [PDF]
The macroscopically emergent rheology of suspensions is dictated by details of fluid-particle and particle-particle interactions. For systems where the typical spatial scale on the particle level is much smaller than that of macroscopic properties, the scales can be split.
